After an epic finale in the first group stage of the Europa League 2025, we’re now down from 36 to 34 participants. So, how are the odds looking? Who are the favourites and how can we bet on outright markets at this stage?

36 Become 24 In The UEFA Europa League

On Wednesday night, we saw 18 fixtures contested in the final round of games in the initial Champions League 2025 group stage. It was the first time we’ve seen such a culmination under the new format and it provided quite the spectacle.

We weren’t sure if the Europa League would be able to live up to the same standards - but with so much on the line, including progression to the next round, European reputation, and the possibility of securing a position in next season’s Champions League, it was another night to remember.

18 more matches took place simultaneously in order to confirm who would automatically qualify for the Last 16, who would have to play again for a chance of progression, and who would be heading back to their domestic leagues for the foreseeable future.

Which Teams Remain?

As far as the Europa League table is concerned, it’s the top 8 teams who automatically progress to the Round of 16, teams in 9th-24th who will face each other over two legs to determine their progression, and the teams from 25th-36th who will be eliminated.
